On Friday, CVC had their annual Blue and White day. It is a very organized track meet for the 1st thru 6th graders that runs from 8:30 AM until noon. The students are split into two teams : white or blue and the PE teacher helps them get ready for the big day. They get to particiapte in 4 - 6 events that range from football toss to standing long jump to big ball races to sack races to all running events including relays. It is really fun and very much anticipated by all! All 3 girls are on the blue team and this year.............. BLUE WON!!!!!!!!! They were very excited! Here are a few pics and I also tried to add their events and their places. Pictures do no justice to these smooth runners...did you doubt they would be runners? With those Bleeker/Harskamp genetics they were richly blessed, right? (notice I did not say Greg/Shantelle genetics)
Brooke running in a 4 x 100 relay. She passed the baton to the anchor who finished a very close second. Brooke also ran the 800 (4th place), soccer punt (3rd), football toss (2nd), and 200 sprint (1st). Way to go B!
Jaron had to wear his shades just like Daddy. He was a tropper but more than ready to leave at 10:30 after 2 hours of mid 90 degree heat sitting in the bleachers. Jaron left with a blue balloon that Lauren got for him. He sure looks cute!
Lauren finished this 800 in 4th place. She looked really strong and had a little too much left at the end of the race. She'll learn! Spanks also ran the 200 (1st), soccer punt (2nd), and the 75 sprint (1st). This girl is in shape thanks to her year round soccer program!
Here is the only good picture I got of Dayle participating in her frisbe throw which she won! Yippee! (The workers for this event kept stepping right in front of my camera shots - bummer!) She also did the football toss (3rd), 50 sprint (2nd) and the 100 sprint (1st). It was her first Blue and White day and she had a lot of fun!
