Take a look and see what we see...is it Doc out there?

Our resort, Ocean Manor, was tops! Small and personal with all the "help" knowing your name (and we knew all their's too)! www.oceanmanorresort.com

Ok! Ok! Ok! So this is really Doc taking a parasailing lesson...1 hour long. He never made it into the water but we sure had fun watching him on the sand too. He even caught some air on the beach. Btw, the guy in the other picture was a local kid that was great on the water and very good advertising.

One view from our resort...stunning blue waters!

One of the few pics of Kimmer and I...we found that we sure are good friends! I don't know how many meals we would show up and have the same color on. Great minds think alike! lol

Greg and Jr not too happy about the forced picture taking session. We did not take many pics of the four of us but lots of pics of the scenery....decided that we can look at each other in Iowa but can't take the views along with us! Hey! It makes sense!

FABIO!!!! Seriously...this is our activities director who tried to make friends with my entire friends list on facebook. He was very entertaining and we will never forget "his flair" for life!

Darcy Mediema with her 2nd grade class from Santiago Christian School. One day Doc and I jumped into a taxi and went to Santiago to see what Darcy was up to. It was very fun and educational. The city was huge and like nothing we had seen before. We enjoyed our time there and survived the ride to tell the story. Quite the ride it was...

Many of the locals travel by motorbike and will at times have an entire family on one...like 3-4 people. Add this into the fact that no one wears helmets and the taxi drivers may drive on the wrong side of the road if they so please, it was amazing we never saw an accident!

A beach side restaurant that decorated their palms with red and pink satin fabric. It was beautiful and sure made their's stand out. The little teepee at right has a propane flame in it for a luminated path up from the water...gorgeous!

In Caberete the morning before we left...

Last minute pic by the ocean blue...
We had a great week and sure made the best of our time. The only pics I didn't get are some more candids from Kim's camera...maybe I can post them next week when I get them....and some from the waterfalls we climbed up and then jumped down. It was amazing to see and live the Dominican way of life and made us appreciate our beloved American soil a little more. Best wishes to Darcy as she moves back to Visalia this summer and to the Ocean Manor resort as they try to survive knowing we will not be back...hee hee We loved the island but there are so many more places in the world to explore. Where are we off to next? You'll just have to wait and see. But in the meantime, adios mis amigos! Hasta luega!
