We spent the weekend in Sioux Falls, SD at a huge soccer tournament called Dakota Gold. The only bummer of the days spent there is we did not come home with GOLD...aka hardware or medals or trophies! We had 4 games on Saturday and WON ALL FOUR! However, Sunday we were not so lucky. Lauren's team tied and Brooke's team lost which meant we headed home a few hours earlier than we had hoped. Above is JC playing with Dominic at one of Brooke's games. He had a lot of fun playing trucks with the "little brothers" there. It was so close to Sioux City that many siblings came to watch. Bonus for my kiddoes!
B on the attack! She played a lot of center midfield and looked really good. Coach told her to ask for the ball more and she just smiled. Tender-hearted B needing to be more aggressive and vocal!? :) She has the skills and now just needs to share them with her teammates on the field. Smart coach! Brooke did however get a yellow card this weekend and that was kinda hard to swallow. But smiles came later after we won the game. Hey! Her dad was proud! YELLOW CARD TOUGH!!!!!!!! Atta girl, B!
Reese was a gem this weekend too. The weather was great...sunny with a breeze and NO RAIN!!! Here she is sitting on Grandma's cooler and thinking she is so smart! Little did we know that she had filled her pants...TMI! I'm sorry! lol Cute isn't she? And no sunburn...yippee!
GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! I just happened to have my camera out and ready when Lauren carried the ball and used her left foot to score! I have all 50 pictures to prove the 10 second event! hahahaha This is one of my favorites as we know that the ball curved to the right of the goalie and went it! Great job Spanks! Lauren looked really good and had 4 goals over the weekend.
And lastly, what is a perfect summer day without bubbles? My "MOMMY" bag (aka HUGE diaper bag) is always stocked with snacks, diapers, sunscreen, more snacks, toys, and bubbles. Here is my dad (aka Grandpa) entertaining Reese and Jaron so we can watch Lauren play soccer. It was really nice to just watch Lauren with my two eyes instead of keeping one on the little ones and one on the field. Thanks for coming to help us cheer on GATEWAY CITY! It was a successfull weekend and now we do the laundry so we can pack it all up again next weekend. Yankton, SD...watch out! The Bleeker's are on their way! sfb
