Winner! Winner! Chicken dinner!

That's right! Brooke's team, THE GATEWAY CITY FUSION, won their U13 division at the USA Cup in Minneapolis, MN this weekend. I heard there were about 300 teams present. They played 6 games starting Friday morning and won the last 5 to take home some hardware!

Check out the new BLUE shoes...only got to wear them on Friday because B got a few blisters. Good thing the red SVU shoes were still in the bag as back up...smart girl! This game was against a Canadian team which we lost but then beat in the Championship Sunday afternoon.
Jaron was great the whole weekend until Sunday's championship was done...then he melted down and slept all the way to Windom, MN. Above, he is playing with Braden Reiser and Michael Glover, who are some of the "little brothers" on the team. They had found a sand pile and of course, we had a large bag of cars that they could play with in the MOMMY bag. Luv luv luv that Mommy bag...
And here are the champions! Right after the game we took a quick team shot...B is in the front row, 3rd from the left...GO FUSION!
Here are the Bleeker representatives for the weekend...Dayle, Reese and Doc stayed back in Iowa on the home front. Grandpa and Grandma Bleeker helped out with the girls so Doc could take care of the cows. But the travelers did have a really great time!! We even got Uncle Mike Bleeker to come to a few games and traveled to the Mall of America. Everyone decided that we needed to come back to Minneapolis real soon...the Twins were out of state so that is on the list for next time too!!!
Brooke holding the championship CUP!!!! YIPPEEE! Each girl signed the ball and Coach Shane gets to take it all back to Sioux City where I assume he puts it next to the one the team won in 2008. That's right! This team won their division last year too. Pretty cool! Back to Back...do I hear 3-peat for 2010?

Championship stand...Brooke is the second from the right. The "flag" is made, of course, of soccer balls with a Puma on the front of each one perfectly centered. Puma was the sponser and their logo was all over the place. It was a great weekend and an awesome experience (Did I say that already? lol) but we were exhausted! All the kids were asleep before I was even out of Minneapolis. Brooke was really exhausted and ready to sleep in Monday morning. She also commented on how great a burger from McDonald's tasted after eating healthy all weekend...:) Congratulations FUSION!!!! CHAMPIONS!!! (again!!)
